Royals loose finale on walk-off hit.

Though BCHS finally got to make up their game with Jeff Davis Saturday morning in Hazlehurst, the rain had to have one more appearance. There was about an hour delay due to stormy weather. But it cleared.

Austin Simmons slides into second after hitting a game tying double in the fifth.


As to the game, the Royals stranded four runners in the first two innings. The Yellow Jackets got an RBI hit in the third. Austin Simmons' two-out double in the fifth tied the score. But a runner was stranded in both the sixth and seventh.

Jeff Davis got the game winning hit with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to win 2-1. BC stranded nine. Simmons accounted for three of the team's seven hits, going 3 for 4.

State playoffs begin May 1 in Cochran versus 3-AA third seed Metter. Game times are TBD.
