In sports, sometimes it's hard to get up for every game, competition, etc. Last week, BCMS had their best performance of the season, winning Grand Champion at the Greyhound Cheer Invitational.

Saturday, they were in Swainsboro for the Rumble in the Jungle. Like last week, schools were divided into large and small. Though region foes Swainsboro, JR Trippe, and West Laurens were in attendance, Bleckley would only be directly competing against the Chiefs and Tigers. Their other opponents were non region.

The familiar chant of "Bleckley County" rang out as the squad prepared to enter. Many had made the trip down I-16 in support on what was a misty, raw morning. BC got off to a good start with their tumbling. Jumps were a little off time but ok. They were loud. A stunt group did come down early.

Part of the pyramid also came down early. Maybe it was a hangover from last week, the squad did many things right but just seemed a bit off in spots.

However, fans still showed their appreciation with a loud cheer at the end. They would cheer again when the group of Amiyah Thigpen, Abbi Belflower, Anna Brown, Shayla Dean, and Abby McClure won the lib off.

Another cheer would come when Bleckley was announced as first place in the small school division. It marked the first time since 2006 BCMS has finished first in three regular season competitions. The squad is off until October 31 when they travel to Toombs County.
