Though Bleckley Elementary finished fundraising for their new playground equipment last year, as a school, they are still in need of supplies. So Thursday night, BCES was transformed into a carnival for the annual Winter Festival.

This student had a unique look as he tried to ring the photo booth with a football.

Assistant Principal Jenny Brooks said proceeds would go toward technology upgrades and other school supplies. Games and other activities were done with the use of purchased tickets. They included Plinko, a football toss, crazy hair, treat walk, a bounce house, and a wagon ride.

Shayla Nobles was amongst the cheerleaders helping style crazy hair.

There were also auctions. A silent auction for various gift baskets as well as a live auction ran by Butch Hon taking place in the lunchroom. People could also relax with pizza or other snacks.

Gail Wimberly, School Based Health Center Cordinator, provides a demonstration of the Telemedicine machine. Sponsored by Communities in Schools/Family Connection, the device allows school medical staff to examine students. A doctor can also be teleconferenced in and prescriptions can be refilled. The service is available to all students.

Around 8 pm, Principal Janet DeLoach asked guests to start making their way toward the door and thanked everyone for attending. Probably one of the few times children weren't ready to leave school.

Prizes were the catch at the Fish Pond.

Children enjoyed climbing on this bounce house/obstacle course.

Gavin Cole helped mind the candy for the spin the wheel game.

What's a festival without cotton candy and popcorn?

Auctioneer Butch Hon presided over the festival's first ever live auction.

This student connected on the football throw.

Cookies and cakes were some of the items available at the treat walk.
