Justin Rozier lays one in.

A belief in sports is that it's hard to beat a team three times in the same season. The Royals were 2-0 against Lamar County. Tuesday night, they came periously close to going 3-0 and clinching their first state berth in three years.

Dontavian Harris took advantage of an opening to score.

Willie Taylor, Justin Rozier, and Torenio Davis combined for 15 first quarter points as the Royals led 19-12. Up 10 in the second, the Trojans got close via a 9-2 run. DJ Lemmon scored as time expired to put Bleckley up five.

Willie Taylor got fouled on this shot.

What was a 14-point lead in the third was down to nine to start the fourth. Bleckley went half a quarter without a basket. Lamar would tie the game with 1:17 left. Willie Taylor broke a 55 all tie with 58 seconds remaining. The Trojans scored with 12 seconds left, forcing overtime.

Kevonn Farrow cut into the Trojan lead with this basket.

Down by five with ten seconds left, Kevonn Farrow scored making it 67-64. BC stole the ball, then Spencer Smith hit a three that rolled in as time expired, tying the score at 67. He scored all eight points in the first OT session.

Spencer Smith got this three to go despite contact.

In the second overtime, Lemmon's basket with 58 seconds left made it 74-70 Royals. Lamar though would score four, two coming on free throws with 18 seconds remaining, to tie the score.

DJ Lemmon had two three's in the third quarter as part of his 15 points.

But in the third overtime, the team scored just one basket and missed three of six free throws. Their season ended 83-79. Davis and Lemmon had 15 points. Smith scored 11. Bleckley finishes the year 9-14.

The top seeded Lady Royals will take on Monticello in the 4-AA semifinals Friday at 7 pm in Cochran.
