As part of their end of the school year duties, the Board of Education votes on the athletic and extra curricular staffing plans for both the high school and middle school. Last night, they voted on the plan for 2016-17.

When students attend their practices, and fans attend games, they'll notice many sports have different people involved.

Two former BCHS athletes will now be assistant coaches for their sports. Chara Nobles, who already helped with tryouts, is the new assistant cheerleading coach. She replaces Christie Dean, who resigned after being promoted to assistant principal of the Success Academy for 2016-17 in February. Nobles will also eventually handle basketball squad coaching duties.

Jacob Byram goes from assistant middle school baseball coach to assistant high school coach. Gary Arnold, who had served as assistant coach, goes to the middle school to work with Mike Lee.

Lee also has a new job. He moves from middle school football head coach to middle school softball head coach. Assisting him will be Faith Hulsey. Greg Collins is the new middle school head football coach. Arnold will be an assistant coach along with Rich Hulsey and new teacher high school teacher Randy Thompson.

Hulsey is the new head coach of the middle school track programs. Stephanie Vickers will be an assistant. Collins has a new assistant tennis coach, former middle and high school player Mallory Dyal.

Several changes to the soccer program were finalized. Wesley Odom, who stepped down as middle school softball coach, will be back to lead the girls soccer program. But he has a new duty, head high school girls soccer coach. Odom replaces Chase Fowler, who's teaching contract wasn't renewed. Odom's assistant will be Jennifer Kitchens.

Tina Hall is no longer middle school girls head basketball coach. The staffing plan lists Collins as head coach with Faith Hulsey returning as an assistant.

Besides leading the high school boys soccer program, Jimmy Williams will have a new job, head middle school boys soccer coach. Mandi Little will serve as assistant coach to both middle school programs.

The high school isn't the only program to get a new assistant cheer coach. Liz Brown will be assisting Becky Smith on the sidelines and on the mat this fall. The sixth grade math teacher replaces Audrey Hall who stepped down.

Angela Jones is the new Dazzler coordinator for the Royal Kingsmen Band. She replaces Emily Raley who announced her resignation in January. You can view the entire staffing plan by going to https://eboard.eboardsolutions.com/Meetings/Attachment.aspx?S=4014&AID=718098&MID=51847
