For fans of local youth baseball, Simpson Park was the place to be Saturday. All three CBRD boys all star teams as well as a local travel baseball team were in action at the All Star Tune Up.

Kix Woodard sets to throw to first for the T-Ball all stars.


The first ever T-Ball all star team made their season debut. They defeated the Duluth Purple Cats (travel team) 24-16 and won 21-5 against the Warner Robins National League girls. BC is top seed and plays Sunday at 1:15 pm.

Hunter Briggs scores the game-winning run for the 8-u versus Jones County Purple.


In 8-u coach pitch, Bleckley got a walkoff win versus Jones County Purple 13-12 but lost to the Fence Busters Travel team 21-4. They're fifth seed and play at 9:15 am.

Rylee Little held on to make the play despite a hard slide.


The 10-u team also split their games, losing 5-3 to Warner Robins National and winning 12-4 against Jones County Purple. The third seed, Bleckley plays at 10:45 am.

Ethan Savant beat the ball home for the Middle Georgia Warriors.


Many of the Middle Georgia Warriors 12-u team played last year as part of the 10-u all stars. They had a good day, defeating Warner Robins 9-0 and Jones County Gold 15-0. They play at 12:30 pm.

Also Saturday: The 8-u softball team made their season debut in Baxley, finishing third. They return to action June 6 in Rochelle.
