Lady Barons make Paw Print Classic debut.

In the past, the Lady Barons softball team's preseason preparations was limited to practices. This year, BCMS followed the lead of the high school as they traveled to Forsyth Wednesday for the first of two days of games in the Paw Print Classic. Two teams were entered, one of older players, the other of just sixth and seventh graders.

Veronica Lee is back in softball after taking some time.


The older team (team one) defeated host Mary Persons 11-7 in thei first game. Team two took on Henderson Middle School team two in the next contest. Three in the first and five in the second powered Bleckley to a 9-0 win. Jordyn Krieg went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI. Clara Rickerson was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI. Katherine Purser was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI.

Bleckley and Henderson's first teams squared off in the next game. Two six-run innings by the Lady Barons helped complete the sweep 13-1. Krieg was 2 for 2 with 1 RBI. JaNayla West went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI. Reagan Wimberly was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI.

Team two took on Mary Persons to end the day. The bats struggled in a 3-1 loss. Time ran out not allowing most players to get two at bats. BCMS has games tomorrow at 10 and 11:30 am. then at 1 and 2:30 pm.
