Bats erupt late as Lady Royals pound Washington County.

Region play resumed Tuesday afternoon when the Lady Royals traveled to Sandersville to take on Washington County. It was the first fastpitch meeting between the two schools.

Bleckley failed to score despite having two on with one out in both the first and third innings. Faith Harris and Aliyah Whitehead had RBI doubles in a three-run fifth. Three more in the sixth was followed by a ten-run seventh as BC won 16-1. Bailey Odom led the way with both her glove and bat.

She threw a one-hitter and went 4 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. Jordan Williams and Taylor Dykes each went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI. Hannah Coulter was 2 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI.

The four hits for Bailey Odom was a career high.


Landa Dominy went 2 for 4 with a double. Abby Sims went 2 for 5 with a pair of doubles and 1 RBI. Harris finished 2 for 5 with 3 RBI. BCHS hosts East Laurens Thursday at 5:30 pm.
