Girls rebound in sweep of Southwest.

Region play continued as BCHS took on Southwest. The girls looked to rebound from Saturday's loss at Dodge County while the boys sought to remain perfect in region play.

Jahnaria Brown had six first quarter points and Kizya Elvine hit a buzzer beating jumper to give the Lady Royals a 19-11 lead. Southwest used a 10-2 run to cut what was a 16-point deficit to nine by halftime.

BC had re-established a 16-point lead going to the fourth. The Lady Patriots used pressure defense to get within ten points with under two minutes left. A buzzer beating three made the final score 60-51. Brown had 26 points. Aliyah Whitehead added 14.

Nykeem Farrow scored the Royals first points on this basket.


DJ Lemmon's fourth three of the first quarter came as time expired giving the Royals a 20-6 lead. Southwest used a 19-3 second quarter to lead 25-23 at halftime. Dontavian Harris' layup as time expired in the third made the score 38-35 BCHS.

Torenio Davis was able to lay the ball in.


Leading 47-41 in the fourth, Southwest scored with 2:02 left. Harris scored with 24 seconds. Nykeem Farrow hit three of four free throws in the final 13 seconds. The Patriots final basket came with three seconds left as Bleckley won 52-45.

Lemmon scored 16 points. Harris had 11. BCHS plays at East Laurens Friday. JV boys play at 4:15 pm with varsity to follow.
