No jinx as BCHS sweeps season series from Falcons.

BCHS looked to sweep the season series against East Laurens. Both teams have been hot since the break with the girls winning three of four and the boys winners of four in a row.

Jahnaria Brown had five points in the final minute of the first, helping the Lady Royals to 12-4 lead. She scored all eight in the second giving BC a 20-13 halftime advantage.

Aliyah Whitehead had eight points in a 13-4 third quarter. Though only scoring four points in the fourth, BCHS won 37-25. Brown finished with 20 points.

Mykell Anderson's 17 points were a career best.


Tied at 16 in the second, DJ Lemmon and Mykell Anderson combined for nine points in a 15-8 finish to lead 31-23. Lemmon connected from three-point range three times in the third as the Royals put together another 15-8 quarter.

Anderson scored seven in the fourth as Bleckley won 63-37. Lemmon finished with 20. Anderson had 17 points including eight in the second. Willie Taylor missed the game with an ankle injury. BCHS hosts Northeast January 17. Tip time is 6 pm.
