Jahnaria Brown scored the Lady Royals first two points.

The coin toss didn't go their way so the Lady Royals traveled to Banneker High School in suburban Atlanta Tuesday night to try and secure a semifinal spot. BC's opponent was 6-AA top seed Hapeville Charter.

A large group of supporters made the trip to support Bleckley.

Aliyah Whitehead's three with 27 seconds left in the first gave BCHS a 12-7 lead. Up nine in the second, the Lady Jackets had drawn to within 23-17 by halftime. A 6-0 burst in the third cut what was a seven-point lead to one.

Bleckley answered with an 11-1 run and led 37-26 going to the fourth. They opened the quarter 10-4. Hapeville went on a 15-3 run cutting what was a 17-point lead to five with 50 seconds left. Though going 12 of 26 from the free throw line, four of those makes came in the final minute to secure a 54-45 win.

It's the first girls final four appearance in school history. Brown had 17 points. Fellisia Young scored 14 points. Aliyah Whitehead added 10. When asked if she would've believed it if someone told her at the beginning of the season they'd be in the semifinals, head coach Jenny Manning said "no."

Kiziya Elvine connected on this jumper.

As to how she felt about being in control for most of the game, Manning focused on what it meant to BCHS noting "This makes school history for our girls program. She added,"I'm awfully excited. I reckon that's the way you're supposed to feel."

Brown leaps in the air as the bench and fans react.

Bleckley takes on Rabun County for a state title game berth. It will be played March 4 at 6 pm inside the Centennial Center at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.
