Georgia Bergeaux signs her name as dad Brian looks on.

If you were inside Bleckley Primary between 4 and 6 pm Thursday afternoon, things looked really different. There were pictures and quotes from Dr. Seuss hanging about. Teachers had on colorful T-Shirts, some donned striped hats.

Families could shop for books, posters, and other items at the book fair.

A sign hanging above the entrance read "Welcome to Seussville." It was the annual celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday and literacy event.

After signing in, children and parents had a variety of reading and word-based games to participate in. Games focusing on sight words, games where reading the word correctly would get part of a picture of Things 1 and 2.

Reading words correctly got children pieces of pictures. Besides reading skills, it also taught them problem solving.

There was also a book walk, book swap where children could trade out old books for new(er) books, as well as the opportunity to shop at the Book Fair. Faculty estimated 180 students attended.
