Middle Georgia State University announced today they would begin offering a Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education this summer. Program approval for the fourth master's degree offered by MGA came from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges on March 28.

According to a release, the Master of Arts in Teaching program is designed for people with bachelor's degrees in English, biology, math or history who want to get certification to teach at the high school level. A partnership with the Bibb County School District will allow students to get teaching experience as "graduate interns" at local high schools.

Courses will be offered online and seminars will be scheduled to meet at the school where the students are getting experience or in the evenings. For more information on the program, contact Dr. Randy Spaid of the School of Education, randy.spaid@mga.edu
