Benji Knighton slides safely into second base.

It was a rematch of sorts as BCHS welcomed Early County for round one of the AA baseball playoffs for a second straight year. The only difference between Friday's games and those last year was seeding. Bleckley was a second seed last year, this year 3-AA's top seed.

Chance Pittman pulls the ball in at first base.

Jack Fernandez' s RBI trip capped a three-run third in game one giving the Royals a 4-0 lead. Cody Dennis had the clinching hit in a six-run fifth as BC won 10-0. All the runs came with two outs. Carter Raffield threw a no-hitter, striking out nine. Chance Pittman went 1 for 2.

Jack Fernandez started a double play with this throw from short.

Playing as visitor per GHSA rules in game two, twelve men came to the plate in an eight-run top of the third. Bleckley added five in the fourth to secure their second straight sweet 16 appearance 15-0. Shayne Cannon gave up just two hits.

Carter Raffield had RBI's in both games.

Nash Mullis went 2 for 3 with a two-run double. Benji Knighton and Fernandez both went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. The Royals will host Heard County in another best of three series starting May 4. Game times are TBD.
