Though BCHS won their second round series with Heard County, the bats struggled, with only six combined hits in the second and third games. Against Bacon County, missed opportunities, along with mistakes, led to the Royals season ending.

Jack Fernandez slides into second base with a double.

Chance Pittman homered with two outs in the fourth, cutting a 2-0 deficit in half. Bleckley loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh. Pinch runner Lane Kitchens scored the tying run on Cody Dennis' fielder's choice when the catcher didn't make a tag. But they would not score again.

BC loaded the bases with two outs in the eighth. They were again left frustrated. Bacon scored five times on two outs in the ninth. Though loading the bases for a third straight time in the home half, the only run came on a Carter Raffield sac fly. He gave up two runs, neither earned, as the Royals lost game one 7-3.

Lane Kitchens scores in the bottom of the seventh in game one.

Dennis was 2 for 4. Jack Fernandez went 2 for 4 with a double. Pittman was 1 for 2. Tied at 2 in the third, a Raffield two-run home run put the Royals on top. The Raiders though would score five times in the home half. Errors contributed to a five-run fourth for Bacon. Bleckley had two on with no out in the fifth but didn't score.

Down 13-4 in the sixth, another bases loaded opportunity, this time with one out, produced no runs. One run in the home half and Bleckley's season ended 14-4. Raffield went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI. Dennis and Benji Knighton each went 2 for 3.

Cody Dennis goes to the netting to catch a pop foul.

The Royals finish with a 25-11 record.
