Delayed update on my health.

Forgot to post this last week. Last Tuesday, my mom carried me to Emory to see a neurologist in an effort to figure out why I still get dizzy/have balance issues. I had a neurological exam, which went well overall. However, based in part on what I told him, he thinks it could be an inner ear issue causing my problems. At the end of May, I go back to Emory to have physical therapy evaluation by someone who specializes in balance issues. The hope is that I can be referred to someone local who can help me further. But at least for the time being, I'm going to continue to be moving slowly, needing my cane, and will be grateful for prayers, as well as any help I get getting my stuff in out of the car. Thanks for your continued readership and support.

So I'm apparently part of those not allowed to attend the Dublin-BCMS basketball game.

Even though I am reporter, not a fan nor a parent, I was told this morning I wouldn't be allowed to attend the makeup basketball game January 31 between Dublin and BCMS. To say I'm disappointed with the decision would be putting it mildly. I'm hurt that I won't be allowed to do my job when I did nothing wrong. Monday is Eighth grade recognition when they host East Laurens. I know I should plan to get photos, but given my current physical limitations, it's hard to want to undertake the extra work when I feel like my work isn't appreciated. I'm not saying it won't get covered, I've got to sleep on it, pray about it, etc.

I'm still here.

Just a quick note to apologize for things being slow. There's not been a lot of news happening and I don't want to run middle school basketball scores from Thursday without having scores from both teams. Though I am still moving quite slowly because of my health problems within the past year, I am trying to keep the site updated with any local news or happenings.

Coverage news and notes. ***Revised***

The reason why there isn't BCMS basketball scores listed is because I've not been able to track down a girls score. The boys won Thursday afternoon versus J.R. Trippe. My current plan is to cover Christmas events in town, though parade coverage might be limited due to having to stand to get photos. It will also depend on what the weather is doing. WHile the Landon Padgett Run for a Dream event Saturday will happen unless there's thunder and lightning, I won't be able to cover it if it's raining. Besides the obvious risk to my camera, I can't risk getting sick again after my health problems last year. Thanks for understanding.

Why there may not be photos from soccer 8th grade recognition.

For those of you who aren't aware, the way recognition is done is to have all the players and parents line up on the field, coaches walk to each player to recognize them. I am moving slowly as I still require a cane to get around. I didn't know this would be happening and I'm sorry. I will hopefully at worst have a listing of those recognized but apologize the section probably won't be more in depth.

I finally have correct info regarding rec. board meetings.

The listings I've had for rec. board meetings (including today's) have been incorrect because I'd lost touch with the rec. department due to other things happening. I wanted to pass along updated/accurate info. Meetings of the Cochran Bleckley Rec. Department board are held on the second Monday of each month at 5 pm.

The memory card mishap strikes again.

For the second time this week, my camera failed to recognize the memory card that was in it. I didn't discover this fact until halftime Friday night when the game was well in hand. I missed touchdowns, recognition of the cross country teams, recognition of the competition cheerleaders, all because my memory card screwed up. While I have plans to replace the card, it doesn't bring back the photos missed tonight. Being honest, one of the reasons why I was late posting anything tonight was due to being depressed about the memory card mishap. In any event, I apologize to you for the issue.

The drop-in reception held this afternoon for Middle Georgia State's new athletic director Michael Brown was advertised by a misunderstanding on my part. It wasn't supposed to be a public event. I apologize to the university and to my readers for the confusion.
