BCMS Beta Club inducts new members.

Bleckley County Middle School Beta Club held induction ceremonies October 6. 39 students joined the BCMS chapter of the National Beta Club, an organization which boasts more than 500,000 members in the U.S. and beyond. Students were chosen based upon academic standing and character.

National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth group in the United States. Its mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. BCMS became a club charter on November 9, 1990.

Sixth grade inductees.


The following students were inducted. Sixth grade: Alex Gillis, Aliya Jenkins, Annabelle Land, AnnaKate Wall, Aubrey Bugg, Christopher Barlow, Conner Spielman, Elisabeth Conley, Everett Childers, Gaige Carnes, Jadyn Tarpley, Jay Faulk, Josie Lanfair, Kale Adkins, Lily Farrell, Madison Sanders, Presley Goins, Preston Lucas, Sarah Collins, Taylor Herndon, Wade Phagan.

Seventh grade inductees.


Seventh grade: Anna Claire Dean, Ashlyn Bivona, Aubree Gay, Ava Herrington, Bianca Vincent, Bri Rogers, Caden Mullis, Cadyn Wilson, Claira Lynch, Ella Gibbs, Elyce Potts, Emilie Bowen, Emily Maddox, Emma Strang, Zyaire Lindsey.

Eighth grade inductees.


Eighth grade: Alexis Zachman, Brandon Jones, Parker Blair. Besides installing members, the BCMS Beta Club will be installing the following officers for 2020-21. Holly Wright: President. Scout Totty: Vice-President. Mia Anderson: Chaplain. Lillian Barlow: Secretary. Kiley Pilgrim : Reporter. Alana Ates: Treasurer.

National Beta CEO, Bobby Hart offered his congratulations to the students saying, “The skills and opportunities that come from National Beta membership impact students not only during their time in school, but as they move forward in life. We are proud of these new inductees and are excited to see how they grow as leaders and positively impact the world”.
