Concert bands do well at district performance assessments.

(Photo courtesy Bleckley County Bands Facebook page.) The 7th and 8th grade concert band recently participated in the GMEA District IV Performance Assessment held at Houston County High School. They got a "Superior" rating in sight reading and also received several helpful comments from the judges.

Today's postponed BCMS tennis matches at Jeff Davis will be made up March 19 at 4 pm in Hazlehurst. The BCHS baseball doubleheader versus Jefferson County has also been rescehduled for March 19 at 4 pm.

Updaters regarding tomorrow's potential severe weather. ***Revised***

Middle Georgia State University announced a delayed stat time of 10 am for all campuses tomorrow due to potential severe weather. According to a university release, students and staff are asked to check their MGA emails for more information. Per a post on the district Facebook page, all Bleckley schools will be closed tomorrow "due to the unpredictability of the weather."

Second Saturday season kicks off.



The Cochran Bleckley Chamber of Commerce’ s “Second Saturday: Music and Food Trucks” kicked off Saturday night with Rivertown Breakdown. The band is made up of people from Middle Georgia including Cochran natives Scott Selph and Chase Barton. The group did a wide variety of songs including “This Is How We Do It,” by Montel Jordan, “Midnight Rider” from the Allman Brothers and “Give Me One Reason” by Tracy Chapman. There were also a variety of trucks for both food and drink needs. Da Band will be at the next Second Saturday April 11. It starts at 6:30 pm and will be held on the courthouse square.
