Fundraisers
Getting started for next year.
Like any sport, cheerleading requires money. From competitions to supplies, squads have to raise funds for expenses during the season. The 2008-09 BCMS cheerleaders got a start on fundraising Saturday as they spent the day washing cars and bagging groceries at Piggly Wiggly.

On May 13, Bleckley County Elementary School will have its spring musicals. The fourth grade begins at 6 pm with the fifth grade begining at 7. On May 20, the school talent show will be held at 7 pm. Both events will take place at the BCHS auditorium.

In the playoffs for the first time since 2004, the BCHS baseball team made sure they would not be leaving soon thanks to late-inning rallies to sweep Jeff Davis at home Friday.

High School Sports
Tennis teams seson ends, Fletcher third at state.
The BCHS tennis teams had their season ended in the Final Four Friday. The girls lost to Wesleyan, the boys fell to Greater Atlanta Christian. At the AA state track meet in Jefferson Friday, Dylan Fletcher finished third in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:27.
