Making back to school a little more fun.

Students go back to school August 6. Most children dread the day. Debbie Martin at the Bleckley Health Department said she wanted children to have some fun before starting. Martin, a member of Limestone Baptist Church, helped with their Back to School Bash last year. So she helped organize one held Friday morning at the health department.
Children could slide on a giant slide, get free popcorn and drinks, get their faces painted, as well as pose with Princesses with a Purpose characters. Those going into kindergarten could go inside and get needed vaccines as well as other required checkups.

Money for the food, goody bags given out, and activities came via donations. The health department thanks everyone who donated. Pictured are healh department employees Patty Portwood, Gloria Reece, Melinda Martin, Brenda Churchwell, Debbie Martin, Kathy Roady, Kathy Williams, George Mims.
