| Lana Maddox has been playing this summer with the 16 and under Georgia Fury. The Fury has players from central and south Georgia counties including, Dodge, Toombs, Appling, Brantley, and Jeff Davis. They traveled July 17 to Panama City Beach to play in the USFA Class A World Series. The team, after winning their first three bracket games, had to fight out of the loser's bracket after losing to a team from Texas. Six back to back games later, the Fury made it to the title game against the homestanding and undefeated Panama City Beach Lightning. A 7-6 win forced the "IF" game. In a contest that ended at 3:30 am on July 24, the Fury won 5-1 to bring home the trophy. |
