Keeping up the fight against cancer.

Though other events in town put a strain on attendance, Relay For Life was held Friday night at the old high school track. Teams gathered to walk to raise funds for the American Cancer Society as well as honor those who are fighting and have fought cancer.

After leaving disappointed the past three years, BCHS baseball players and fans left the field Friday night happy. Because not only did the Royals break a six-game postseason losing streak, they made it to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2009.

Gathering again to hear the Bible.

(Photo by Business Manager David Whitaker) Opening ceremonies for the 13th annual Bible Reading Marathon were held on the courthouse square. The gathering featured a variety of local community leaders including school superintendent Steve Smith. Readings will take place each day through May 5, the National Day of Prayer. A service to commemorate that will be held at 6:30 pm in the First Baptist Church Social Hall.
