In this election where there’s been record early voter turnout, local officials have been a key to success. Here in Bleckley County, Jonathan Fordham has been leading the elections team.
Fordham, the probate judge, has been responsible for things such as process and mail absentee ballots, set up early in-person voting, and make sure polling locations are open, staffed, and equipped for Election Day. As of October 29, more than 53 percent of eligible voters had cast ballots.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger praised the work of officials such as Fordham in a release saying, “Our county election officials are the true superheroes of elections. These dedicated election officials form the backbone of election administration in Georgia. It is thanks to their hard work and dedication that polls open, votes are counted, and Georgians get to share their voice at the ballot box.”
There are 7,546 eligible voters in Bleckley County.
