The City of Cochran, Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Development Authority, along with Lowcountry Housing Communities, LLC, Fairway Construction, and Fairway Management, Affordable Equity Partners will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for Havenwood Gardens, a family property which will contain 50 family affordable apartments. It’ll take place December 8 at 4:30 pm.

The new property will located at Daisy Adams Road and the Highway 87 bypass. According to a release, seven, two-story, townhouse-style residential buildings in addition to one community building, will be constructed. Once completed, there will be six one-bedroom, 24 two-bedroom, and 20 three-bedroom units. Amenities offered will include fully-furnished community room, fitness center and computer lab, as well as a wellness center, community garden and playground.

The public is invited to attend. Per the news release, the groundbreaking will be “socially distanced” and those attending are asked to wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the city auditorium with limited seating.
