Like other sports, this year’s Lady Royals softball team faced challenges due to COVID-19. A late start to practice. No preseason games. A shutdown during the season because of contact tracing.

Marley Jarrell with assistant coach Emmie Meadows.

Despite those obstacles, BCHS won their region title since 2014. Players, families, and coaches gathered to celebrate the season Monday night at the Community House.

Both JV and varsity players received certificates. Varsity players also were given hooded sweatshirts. In handing out JV awards, assistant coach Emmie Meadows praised the players for trying hard regardless of the score.
