Please don't think I'm lazy. ***Updated March 5***

As you might know, BCHS girls soccer will be playing at Monticello tomorrow. From my house, it's 69 miles. Baseball will be at Fitzgerald, approximately 71 miles away and non-region.

As you also might be aware, gas prices have gone up. I have to renew my Chamber of Commerce membership, it's a necessary expense being a small business in the community. The cost is $150.

Plus, unless there are rainouts, I'm going to have to be eating out numerous days upcoming due to having so many things to cover and not having time to eat at home. To make a long story short, there's a lot of expense in my life.

So much so that I'm giving strong consideration to not covering either away event, getting stats to run from both (which I can do.) It's not that I don't want to cover the games.

It's just I'm scared of the financial implications if I do. Short of some last-minute miracle donation, I just don't see the financial path to making a long trip tomorrow with everything else facing me.

No, I'm not asking you for money. I'm trying to explain the state of my financial affairs. Hoping you'll understand I want to work. I want to have pictures go with the stories I write. I want to cover as much as possible.

It's just there are days right now when I don't see how I can do it when I know what's ahead. I'm sorry things are in this shape. I don't want to let you down. You who've believed in me, you who support me.

I ask for your continued support now. Maybe things will be easier once I see money from the land sale. Thanks for reading.

***Today (Friday) a parent has stepped forward, offering to may for my expenses of traveling to Monticello for soccer. This article's intent wasn't to ask you for anything, please understand.

But if a parent is willing to help, I will do the work and be grateful for the help.***
