A boy does the "lava walk."

For many years Miranda (Bryant) Schossler entertained children in Bleckley and other counties through her organization Princesses with a Purpose. A few years ago, Miranda married Branden (Schlossler) and moved to Ohio. PWAP ceased operations in 2019.

Miranda though didn’t give up her love of entertaining children, joining with an Ohio-based organization along with her husband Brandon. Recently, the two came up with a new ay to both entertain and educate children, Jurassic Jungle.

Jurassic Jungle is a sanctuary for dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. It’s staffed by a team of “Dinosaur Conservationists” who nurture and take of the creatures.

Some of the baby dinosaurs got up close with the audience.

Saturday, Jurassic Jungle presented the first of what will be a touring show, “Dinosauria Spectacular.” As people entered, children could hop on rocks to do a “lava walk” as well as take pictures with various scenes. Branden was in the lobby, handling one of the dinosaurs.

The main show was inside. Miranda was one of two hosts. They introduced each dinosaur, described their fictional personality as well as real-life facts about them. Children were called on during the show to answer questions such as what is a carnivore?

Children got to meet numerous dinosaurs including a velociraptor, brontosaurs, and triceratops. When it looked like the show had ended, there was a shaking and a rumble. One more dinosaur had to make their appearance. A tyrannosaurs rex. The “thunder lizard” was a favorite.

It was a long day for the cast and crew, as they put on four shows. But you wouldn’t have known it at the final 6 pm performance. Cast members were engaging, energetic, and children in attendance seemed to truly enjoy seeing and learning about dinosaurs.
