Track teams do well at region.

BCHS track was in Monticello Wednesday and Thursday this week for the region 3-AA championships. Both teams had good finishes thanks in part to scoring points in several areas as well as strong finishes in distance events. Here are the girls who finished top four in their events.

Pole vault- Abbi Belflower, first place. Amiyah Thigpen, second place.

400 meter run- Piper Simpson, fourth place.

800 meter run- Tristen Crosby, first place. Piper Simpson, second place. Emily Youngblood, third place.

1600 meter run- Tristen Crosby, first place. Piper Simpson, second place. Emily Youngblood, third place.

3200 meter run- Tristen Crosby, first place. Johna Bowen, second place. Mai Lei Long, third place.

4x400 relay- Piper Simpson, Emily Youngblood, Tristen Crosby and Johna Bowen, first place.

4x800 relay- Johna Bowen, Juliet Cairney, Lauren Kitchens and Mai Lei Long, first place.

The boys finished third place. Here are their top four finishers.

Pole vault- Caden Maxwell, first place. Jackson Paulk, second place. Joseph King, third place.

Discus- Wesley Daniel, second place.

800 meter run- Luke Churchwell, first place. Kson Jones, second place.

1600 meter run.- Luke Churchwell, first place. Kson Jones, second place. Brian Giberson, third place.

3200 meter run- Luke Churchwell, first place. Kson Jones, second place. Brian Giberson, third place.

4x100 relay- Omari Jackson, Christian Newbern, TJ Mays and Jaden Mobley, fourth place.

4x400 relay- Iverson Baker, Jesse Kuck, Arealius English and Marcus Newson, second place.

4x800 relay- Luke Churchwell, Kson Jones, Jesse Kuck and Brian Giberson, first place.

All top four finishers will seek a berth in the state finals at sectionals May 8 at East Laurens.
