By this time next Friday, children will have returned to school. Earlier tonight, they had one more night of fun at the Back to School Bash.
Bleckley Elementary will have a rock and roll theme this year. As part of that theme, they were handing out pop rocks candy.
The event was sponsored by Communities in Schools/Family Connection. Bleckley Christian Learning Center, Cochran Bleckley Chamber of Commerce, and the Bleckley NAACP. As people arrived, they registered at a table to receive tickets for a backpack as well as free snow cone.
CIS/FC Director Pam Moore hands a girl a slice of pizza.
People were then free to browse various booths, some of which had giveaways or games. They could also stop by a table to get a free slice of pizza and bottled water.
Assistant superintendent Dr. Trey Belflower was on hand to answer questions at the Student Support Services booth.
There were places for kids to cool off. A pair of giant waterslides as well as the sprayer from the Cochran Fire Department offered a place to splash and have fun.
A spin of the wheel would determine what kind of candy was handed out at the Bleckley Christian Learning Center booth.
A good way to end the summer.
The Dre Day Foundation had an information booth and was also handing out flyers for an upcoming fundraiser.
