Reagan Wimberly had a close play at second base.

The Lady Royals came into Thursday’s game at Dodge County needing a win to have any shot at winning region. Though they’d rally from two three-run deficits to tie the game twice, they missed other scoring opportunities.

Kemyah Anderson gets under a ball in left field.

Down 5-2 in the third, BC used bunt hits and shaky Dodge defense to tie the game. They loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth but didn’t score. Dodge scored two in the home half.

Clara Rickerson squeezes a popup.

Rebecca Bowling’s single in the fifth cut the deficit to 7-6 only for the Lady Indians to get a two-run home run in their half. BC scored three int the sixth but couldn’t get the go ahead run across on a second and third, one out, opportunity. The bottom of the sixth and top of the seventh were the only times either team retired all three batters in order.

Elisia Vickers receives the ball at first base.

Dodge scored the winning run on a wild pitch with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the seventh to win 10-9. BC stranded 14 runners, including leaving the bases loaded twice. Riley Haley was 4 for 5 with 1 RBI.

Jordyn Krieg scored during BC's three-run sixth inning.

Elisia Vickers went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Addisyn Keel went 1 for 2 with a double and 1 RBI. Clara Rickerson was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. BCHS hosts Schley County October 4 at 5:30 pm.
