BCMS was at Vidalia High School Tuesday night for the MGMSAA championship competition. A large crowd made the drive down I-16 to support them, including the BCHS competition squad.

A chant of “Bleckley County” could be heard as the squad prepared to enter. Welcomed to the floor with “Royal” by Lorde, BC took the mat. What came next was an outstanding performance.

Every stunt stuck. Motions were crisp. Jumps were solid. Everyone hit their tumbling passes. The pyramid went up without issue. BC left it all on the mat with a top-rate performance full of energy.

Even before the results were announced, head coach Chara Nobles spoke of how proud she was of her squad. When they were, she would have even more to be proud of.

Second place, West Laurens Middle School. First place, Bleckley Middle School. Those supporting the purple and gold cheered loudly for the result. As squad members made the way out of the gym, another “Bleckley County” chant broke out.

The squad with coaches Chara Nobles and Jessica Smith.

Because the Barons had to pull out of a previous competition, they’ll be in action November 6 at Battle at the Kingdom in Cochran.
