Emmie Davis of Cochran has been involved with ballet since age two. Now 13, she’ll be starring in her biggest role to date, playing the lead female character Clara in Theatre Dublin’s production of The Nutcracker. She auditioned for the role back in August. In an email, Davis said it was a “huge honor” to get the role. She knows there will be pressure on her but believes she’s ready.
“It can be a lot of pressure at times knowing that people are relying on me, and everyone will be looking at me, but I handle pressure very well, and my confidence is at an all-time high while on stage,” she said
Davis continued, “This is such an incredible experience, and opportunity for me that I do not take lightly. It will definitely be something that I will never forget! From the auditions, the many many hours of rehearsals, the costume fittings, the choreography, the set, hair and makeup, and all of the amazing I’ve met along the way. It can certainly get stressful, but it is all worth it in the end. I am extremely excited to play the lead role this year! I hope to put on an AMAZING show and reach above and beyond everyone’s expectations. This is only the beginning!”
Davis is the daughter of Brittney Davis. The Nutcracker will be at Theatre Dublin December 10-12. Tickets and more information can be found at theatredublinga.com
