A busy day of Battle at the Kingdom.

BCHS hosted the second annual “Battle at the Kingdom” Saturday morning at the high school gym. It was a busy time for both the squad and coaches as they did things like checking teams in and directing them to where they needed to be.

As there were no middle school teams to compete against, BCMS had an exhibition of their routine. The large crowd full of Bleckley supporters enjoyed cheering on the MGMSAA champs.

Following an intermission, high school competition began. There were schools from Classes A, 4A, 5A, 6A, as well as 2A. Finally, it was time for the Royals to take the floor. The familiar chant of “Bleckley County” could be hurt in the minutes before PA announcer Michael Dukes announced them.

Buoyed by the large crowd, things got off to a good start. However, a stunt group came down early. There were also issues with the pyramid. While their effort was applauded, most could see it was just one of those days.

The silver lining was twofold. One, BC was only competing for scores. Two, there was nothing that happened that couldn’t be fixed with practice. BCHS would like to thank everyone who attended the competition. All the squads who competed, the fans who were there in support. They also thank the many volunteers who helped ensure things ran smoothly.

The Royals travel to Vidalia for region November 13.
