From the parking lot to the top spots: Track teams finish first, second at region.

BCHS track was in Barnesville for the 3-AA Championship Meet this past Tuesday and Wednesday. While the teams were used to being on the road, this season had an extra challenge. They had to practice in the parking lot due to construction on and around the track.

Despite that obstacle, the girls won region for the first time in several years The boys finished runner-up. Here is the list of those who qualified for sectionals courtesy of ga.milesplit.com

Girls:
Riley Haley- Third, 100 meter dash, Third 4x200 relay.
Piper Simpson- Third, 400 meter dash. Second, 800 meter run. Second, 4x400 relay. First, 4x800 relay, third 4x200 relay.
Tristen Crosby- First, 800 meter run. First, 1600 meter run. Second, 4x400 relay. First, 4x800 relay.
Lairem Kitchens- Third, 800 meter run. Second, 4x400 relay. First, 4x800 relay.
Kayslen Armstrong- Second, 1600 meter run. Second, 3200 meter run. Second, 4x400 relay. First, 4x800 relay.
Johna Bowen- Third, 3200 meter run. First, 1600 meter run.
Lilly Schmittel- Third, 3200 meter run.
Makayla Jackson- Fourth, 100 meter hurdles.
Jaylen Brown- Third, 4x200 relay.
Kirsten Villareal- Third, 4x200 relay. First, pole vault.
Clara Young- Fourth, discus.

Caleb Darsey- Third 800 meter run. Fourth, 1600 meter run. First, 4x800 relay.
Logan Camp- Third, 3200 meter run. First, 4x800 relay.
Devonta Ates- Fourth, 100 meter hurdles.
Arelius English- Third, 4x100 relay. Second, 4x200 relay. Second, 4x400 relay.
TJ Mays- Third, 4x100 relay.
Jaden Mobley- Third, 4x100 relay.
Rodriguez Flagg- Second, 4x200 relay.
Ke’Shun Butler- Second, 4x400 relay.
Tyler Wilcox- Second, 4x200 relay.

Sectionals will be held May 7 at East Laurens High School. The top eight finishers in each event there advance to the state finals May 12-14 in Columbus.
