Track athletes qualify for state finals.

BCHS track was at East Laurens Saturday for state sectionals. The top eight finishers in each event advance to next weekend’s state finals. Both teams had several athletes qualify.

Boys-
1600 meter run. 1. Luke Churchwell. 4. Briggs Dominy. 8. Caleb Darsey.
3200 meter run. 1. Luke Churchwell. 3. Briggs Dominy. 6. Logan Camp.

The 4x100 team qualified, finishing eighth, as did the 4x400 relay team. The 4x800 team qualified, finishing third. Ke’Shun Butler qualified in the high jump, finishing second.

Girls-
100 meter dash. Riley Haley, eighth.
400 meter dash. Piper Simpson, fifth.
800 meter run. 3. Tristen Crosby. 5. Piper Simpson
1600 meter run. 3. Tristen Crosby. 7. Kayslen Armstrong.
3200 meter run. 1. Johna Bowen. 4. Lilly Schmittel.

The 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams qualified, both finishing seventh. The 4x800 team qualified, finishing third.

Pole vault. Kirsten Villareal, seventh.
Discus, Jaziah Page, eighth.
Shot put. Jaziah Page, sixth.

The state finals will be held May 12-14 in Columbus.
