Basketball teams win season opener.

BCHS opened the basketball season Tuesday afternoon at Perry. The Lady Royals opened the season without Lyric Stephens (knee injury) and with some of the Royal starters adjusting on the fly after having just finished football season.

Kalyria Jones


After opening the game 22-4, the Lady Royals were outscored 19-7 in the second and led by just four points at halftime. BC answered with a 19-5 third quarter and went on to win 57-40.

Ava Jenkins


Ava Jenkins led with 18 points. Kalyria Jones had 14 poins. Amiyah Roberts added 11 points.

Nykez Farrow


Jaylin Gardner’s basket as time ran wound down in the first half capped a 20-5 second quarter, giving the Royals a 32-18 halftime lead. Still leading by 14 going to the fourth, Perry got within seven points in the final two minutes. BC closed the game 6-0 to win 64-51.

Nykez Farrow had 31 points. Gardner scored 12 points. Kam Everett added 10 points. Bleckley plays at Vidalia November 30. Girls play at noon with boys to follow.
