After starting the season on the road, BCMS was home for the first of two home series as they hosted Dublin Thursday afternoon. Thankfully, there wasn’t a repeat of the incidents which happened last season. Rather, it was simply a good day for the home teams.
Patrice Owens
A 14-0 second quarter burst gave the Lady Barons a 20-6 halftime lead. Though the offense slowed down in the third, they still led by 13 going to the final quarter. BC scored a season-best 40 points in winning 40-18.
Ahniyah Mitchell
Though the Barons jumped out to a 13-2 lead after one quarter, they were outscored 14-0 in the second. BC wouldn’t get another basket until 1:43 remained in the third.
Camden Beck
It was part of an 8-3 finish that saw Bleckley take the lead by two points. Up one with 1:23 left in the game, Jamir Thompson would hit five of six free throws over the next minute, giving BC a five-point lead. Dublin drained a three with five seconds left, but couldn’t stop the clock as the Barons held on for their first win, 38-36.
