BOE votes to continue SPLOST.

The Bleckley County Board of Education held their final meeting of 2024 Tuesday night. There were a few things of note passed

Approved the Bond Referendum Resolution to continue the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. The tax has been used for many projects including building of the new primary school. Voters will vote on continuing it during a special election March 18.

There were two things of note approved in the consent items. Namely, meeting dates for 2025, and the appointment of school board attorneys. Go to the above address and click on B.

Approved was the purchase of GSBA Fleet Insurance for $49.023. The other quote came from Cochran Insurance and Reality in the amount of $73,000.

The board approved using Trey Couch to replace the carpet in the high school auditorium for $21,962 and to have the auditorium, auditorium lobby, and bathrooms painted for $28,000.
