BCHS welcomed A.C.E. to the Castle Saturday afternoon in a makeup of previously postponed games due to winter weather. Speaking of the weather, a cold finish sunk the girls while the Royals were hot offensively.

Kalyria Jones’ 12 first half points helped keep the Lady Royals close as they trailed 29-25 at halftime. BC took the lead in the third and carried a three-point advantage to the fourth quarter.

But leading by five points in the fourth, BC gave up an 18-1 run to end the fourth as they lost 56-44. Jones finished with 17 points. Ava Jenkins had 11 points.

The Gryphons hit a buzzer-beating three to draw within 31-24 at halftime. That would be as close as they’d get. Landry Jones hit a three in the final seconds of the third to cap a 24-2 third quarter by the Royals that blew the game open.

BC would go on to win easily 66-38. Nobles finished with a varsity career best 11 points including three three-point shots. Nykez Farrow led with 18 points. Jamary Elvine added 17 points.

It will be Sweetheart Court when BCHS hosts Southwest February 4. Varsity tip time is 6 pm. The court will be revealed during halftime of the boys game.
