Cochran Bleckley Sports Hall of Fame inducts 2025 class.

1959 basketball team representatives.


Induction ceremonies for the 2025 Cochran Bleckley Sports Hall of Fame were held Saturday afternoon. Those who had excelled in local sports over the years (IE: coaching at Thompson Street High School, state winners) were recognized.

Boys 2015 cross country team representatives.


Nominations were decided on by the committee. Committee members are: Leanna Noah, Jenelle Floyd, Anthony Jenkins, Sam Barrs, Victor Cooper, Sammy Haupt, Debra Turner, Dicky Erwin, Jason Little.

Girls 2016 cross country team members.


The first inductees were members of the 1959 state champion basketball team. It was a do-over of sorts as some of the members were accidentally left off the list last year.

Boys cross country 2016 representatives.


Next was the 2015 boys state champion cross country team. It was the first boys state championship. Both the girls and boys teams won state in 2016, so that girls team, then the boys team were inducted next.

Girls 2017 cross county team members. (All cross country pictures are with Shelly Cranford and Caley Allen.)


Girls cross country repeated as state champions in 2017, so they were inducted, Inducted next was the BCHS 2021 state championship cheerleading squad who had climbed from fourth to first place over a four-year span.

Inducted next was the 1973 boys state champion track team. Bill Cheek and family members representing Quenton Floyd were then inducted as contributors. Coaches Heather Davis, Allie Anderson, Shelly Cranford, Caley Allen, Frank Walker, Richard Harris, and Jimmy Kilpatrick were inducted.

Outstanding Individuals were inducted next. Baseball: Gary Arnold, Trey Belflower. Girls basketball: Kathy Harris, Joyce Brown, Jannelle Floyd, Loretta Francis, Pauline Watson. Girls track: Annie (Fletcher) Stewart.

Boys track: Steven Arnold, Shelly Cranford, Craig Pickett, Charlie Porter, Richard White. Tennis: AJ Blankenship, Colby Kitchens, Brennan Sanders, Derrick Taylor. Boys basketball\: DeMariio Beck, Tony Fair.

Coaches.


Football: Ricky Crumpler, David Hill, Tommy Hill, Anthony Jenkins, Ernest Johnson, Calvin Reeves, Curtis, Reeves, Dennis Roland. In closing remarks, it was noted that nomination forms for the 2026 class are available on the Bleckley Schools District website under links/forms.
