It was the third meeting this year between BCHS and East Laurens as the Royals and Falcons squared off in the region boys consolation game Saturday afternoon at Dublin High School. EL had won both meetings, including rallying from a nine-point halftime deficit when the teams met at East Dublin.

In Saturday’s game, EL led by as many as 10 points in the first half but BC had drawn within 24-19 at halftime. Things remained close in the third with the deficit getting no bigger than seven points. The Royals trailed 40-37 going to the fourth.

With a little over two minutes left, Demariyus Walters tied the game at 51. The Falcons though closed the game 9-4 to win 60-55. Nykez Farrow had 26 points. The Royals will travel to B.E.S.T. Academy for round one of the playoffs February 19, the Lady Royals play at A.C.E. February 18. Unofficial tip time for both is 6 pm.
