Good Barons baseball season celebrated.

Managers were also recognized.


It was another good season for BCMS baseball. The Barons finished 18-6, third seed for the MGMSAA playoffs. They advanced to the region title game by winning at Jeff Davis for a second straight season. BC finished region runner up, losing to West Laurens.

Players, coaches, and families gathered together Tuesday night to celebrate the season and player accomplishments. Everyone received certificates. Eighth grade players, who were part of two straight region runner up finishes, also received gift bags.

Other awards were as follows. Coaches Award: Caleb Hill. Heart and Hustle Award: Liam Alley. Baron Award: Jax Pipkin. Most Improved: Riley Hogan. Most Improved Pitcher: Aiden Raffield.

Best Defensive Outfielder: Brody Arnold. Best Defensive Infielder: Dylan Lamb. Clutch Moment Award: Cooper Floyd. Newcomer of the Year: Ben Rycroft.

Academic Awards. Sixth grade: JP Reid. Seventh: Eli Parks. Eighth: Riley Hogan. Pitcher of the Year and QABY (Highest percentage of quality at bats award) Layne Boutwell. Co-Offensive Players of the Year: Kix Foskey and Thomas Williams. Foskey was also named MVP.

This was the last banquet for Dusty Jones as head coach as he will be stepping away from baseball and softball coaching duties to welcome his first child. Jones, getting emotional at times while speaking about his time as head coach said it was “the best seven years of my life.”

Congratulations to all the award winners and congratulations to Jones on the upcoming new addition to his family.

Dusty Jones received several gifts including this T-Shirt marking his entering into fatherhood.
