BCHS wrapped up their home and home series with A.C.E. Thursday afternoon in Cochran. Though the Lady Royals stayed close, it would be another game in which they had chances to win.

Down 4-0 going to the bottom of the fourth, Nyra Waters’ two-run single got BC on the board though they would leave the bases loaded. The Gryphons scored one in the top of the fifth.

BC got a run on a dropped fly ball in the home half only to see A.C.E. score again in the sixth. Bleckley recorded their only clean inning in the seventh and got the first two runners on in the home half.

Both though would be left stranded as the Gryphons completed the sweep 6-3. Three of the six runs scored were unearned due to four errors committed and Bleckley left nine runners on base. Emmie Williams was 3 for 3 with a double. Kadence Carmichael, Jalycia Stanley, and Jana Tomlin all went 1 for 2.
The Lady Royals host Central September 9 at 5:30 pm.
