Cheerleaders still striving to reach their potential.

In any sport, potential while great, can only get so far. A team has to be able to reach that potential and execute to have success. This year’s BCHS Competition Cheer Squad has plenty of potential in both talent and the routine.

It’s got a high degree of difficulty and has better tumbling than last year’s. Unfortunately for the squad, they’ve yet to reach that full potential as was seen in Saturday’s performance at the West Laurens Raider Rumble.

Things got off to a good start. However, the issues then began. A stunt group came down early twice. There were problems again with part of the pyramid. As usual, BC battled through to the end and the crowd applauded their efforts.

When the results were announced, Bleckley’s name wasn’t called for a second straight week. They received two safety deductions on the pyramid. Head coach Heather Davis stressed they hadn’t reached their full potential, and was encouraging the girls to continue to work hard.
