BCHS was home Friday night to host Northeast. On paper, it appeared there would be a high scoring affair as the Royals were one of the top scoring teams in Class A, Division 1 while Northeast was led by highly touted freshman Jordan Wiggins.

The game ball was delivered via helicopter from Middle Georgia State University. |
However, the game proved to be a defensive, low scoring affair. Both teams did get off to quick starts offensively. Brody Fleming connected with Kelvin Sneed on a 12-yard touchdown pass, capping a 78-yard opening drive with 8:25 left.

Rec. football players got to run on the field before the game. |
But the 7-0 lead would be gone in less than a minute as Wiggins connected on a 94-yard touchdown pass less than a minute later. Though they’d get the back thanks to an onside kick, the score remained tied 7-7 thanks to a Josh Stanley, Jr interception in the endzone.

Middle Georgia State was also the game sponsor. Pictured L-R: are Athletic Director Michael Brown, Duke the Mascot, Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Jennifer Brannon, Touchdown Club President Heath Rowland, and Director of Community Engagement for the Cochran campus Randy Thompson. |
The Raider defense would get a big stop in the second, holding off BC on a fouth-and-1 from the Northeast 24. Stanley got a second interception in the second, this time on the Royal six. However, the offense would not be able to move the ball.

Northeast started the next drive on the Royal 30. It was capped on a five-yard touchdown run fourth-and-3 from the five. The PAT was blocked as Northeast took a 13-7 lead into halftime.

The BC defense would again make a big stand in the third, stopping Northeast on a fourth-and-3 from the BC 3. Though the Raider defense picked off a pass in the fourth, an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty backed them up.

BC took the lead with 4:31 left in the fourth on a 43-yard Deondrez Robertson touchdown run. The defense would stand up one more time, getting a Tug Pasby quarterback sack on fourth-and-4 from the BC 34.
