BCHS opened the softball playoffs Wednesday afternoon at Jeff Davis. The Lady Royals and Lady Jackets met two other times in the playoffs, 2013 in Hazlehurst and 2014 in Cochran. Jeff Davis swept both matchups.
Rayea Dominy
Game one was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when a ball bounced off an outfielder’s glove with two outs, scoring two runs. JD added three in the fifth, one of them as the result of an error.
Natalie Fordham
BC had a runner at third with one out in the seventh but couldn’t score in losing game one 5-0. The team had just three hits. Ashanti Flagg was 1 for 2.
Emmie Williams
Game two saw Jeff Davis jump out to a 6-1 lead. Though BC cut the deficit in half scoring twice in the bottom of the third, they left the bases loaded with one out. JD scored six in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Zoey Adams
The Lady Royals did have runners at first and third with two outs in the home half but left them stranded as the season ended 14-3. Alaysia Coley hit her first home run, a solo shot, in the second.
Ashanti Flagg
Emmie Williams was 2 for 3 with a double and 1 RBI. Zoey Adams and Nyra Waters both went 2 for 3. Bleckley finishes the season 18-7.
