Grease is the word.

The cast performs "Rock and Roll is here to stay."

Though it's summer, many students in graded 4-8 were in high school Friday night. Rydel High to be exact. The fictional school is the location for the popular musical "Grease."

The greasers are confronted by Principal Lynch (Hannah Arnold)

Under the direction of Mi Waters and Kelli Greer, the students sang the songs and played the parts of the iconic show which features songs like "Hopelessly devoted to you" and "You're the one that I want" Madison Phelps played good girl Sandy. Spence Greer played greaser Danny.

Betty Rizzo (Katie Burton) talked to cheerleader Patty (Julianna Leverette.)

Of course the other characters were there as well. Rizzo and the Pink Ladies, the Greasers, the cheerleaders, it was a full cast. They'd been working since Monday to learn the lines and songs made popular by Olivia Newton-John, John Travolta, and Frankie Avalon.

Marty (Ashley Strickland) sings "Freddie My Love."

The story, for those who don't know, is Danny and Sandy meet over one summer. Unbeknownst to both, they're at Rydel High School. It's a test to see if their summer love was real, and who will change and grow to be like the other.

If you missed this showing, Rydel hasn't let out for the summer just yet. There will be an encore Saturday at 2 pm and a final showing at 7 pm.

Betty Rizzo sings "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee."

Sandy (Madison Phelps) sings "Hopelessly devoted to you."

A shocking end to the rumble.

Teen Angel (Johnholland Jones) sings "Beauty School Dropout" as a forlorn Frenchy (Shana Flury) sits and watches.

Danny (Spence Greer) sings "Sandy,"
