High School Sports
Cross Country teams prepare for region. ***Corrected***



The Runnin' Royals had their final race before region with the tuneup two-miler held in Cochran Thursday afternoon. Both the boys and girls finished first. Region will be October 26 at Washington County High School starting at 11 am.

The parking lot overflowed with cars.
After not having it last year due to COVID, hundreds of parents brought their children to Bleckley Primary to for the annual event designed to make learning reading and math fun.

Bleckley Fire Department holding gun raffle at CountryFest.

The Bleckley County Fire Department will hold a gun raffle for a 5.56 AR-15 Saturday at CountryFest. Tickets will be $10 each, or three for $20. The drawing is expected to take place around 5 pm. You do not have to be present to win. Proceeds will benefit the fire department.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the trip to state convention in Savannah this January.

Pilot Club seeking business support for upcoming Winter Wonderland Express.

Pilot Club of Cochran will hold a drive-thru Winter Wonderland Express this December at Heartland EMS. It will be free and feature the usual displays of princesses, characters, etc. In order to help cover the cost, the club is asking for donations from local businesses. Sponsorship levels are $50 (bronze), $150 (silver), $250 (gold), or $500 (platinum.) All business sponsorships will be featured during the event. Sponsorships can also consist of props, services, rentals, or advertising. Volunteers for the event are always welcomed. Donations can be sent to Pilot Club of Cochran, P.O.
