High School Sports
Several Royals sharing POTW honors for Wilcox game.

Two players were named as Co-Players of the Week in three of four categories for the Royals football game versus Wilcox County. Offensive Players of the Week went to TJ Mays and Jahvon Butler. Defensive honors were shared by Tyler Wilcox and Quintavis "Scooter" Slappy." Special teams POTW were both Matthew Bland and James Fordham. Scot team Player of the Week was Xavier Anderson. BCHS travels to Toombs County September 3. Kickoff is 7:30 pm.

First exhibit of school year opens inside MGA Peacock Gallery.



Last year, many of the events held inside Middle Georgia State University’s Peacock Gallery were virtual due to COVID-19. Monday night, an in-person gallery talk was held for the “Luke Buffenmyer Painting Exhibit,: the first one of the school year. Buffenmyer, an MGA art professor on both the Cochran and Macon campuses, spoke about his works including how he would get ideas for names of his works from places such as radio and newspapers. He also answered questions from students. The exhibit will be on display through October 1. Gallery hours are 8 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday, 8 am to noon on Fridays.

Pilot Club names ambassador for 2021-22.

According to Pilot International guidelines, responsibilities of an ambassador include: Be Active in an Assigned Role within the Club, Promote and Support Pilot International and its activities, Be active in a project that addresses one of Pilot International’s core areas of service focus (IE: Brain Safety and Fitness), as well as Be faithful in attending meetings and give generously of his/her time to assist with service projects and fundraising activities. Giddens is pictured with club president Melinda Bryant.

A time of fun and fellowship at local church.



Saturday night was a fun time for children, youth, and families at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. A finger food fellowship was held followed by a concert from Dublin-based trio Scarlet Fade. They performed many popular songs and hymns as well as some original work. You can learn more about them by going to scarletfade.com The Mt. Calvary choir will have a concert September 12 at 6 pm.

Middle, high school cross country teams win Clash of the Classes.

The Runnin' Barons and Runnin' Royals had their home debut Saturday at Clash of the Classes, the annual race that pitted grades against each other (IE: eighth grade girls, 11th grade boys.)
