Season ends for 10u baseball.



The Bleckley 10u All Stars saw their season end Saturday, one game from the state championship. After beating Schley County 15-2 that morning, the team was eliminated by Wrens 17-4.

Comeback attempt falls short for 10u baseball.




Bleckley 10u baseball opened bracket play in the Dixie Youth state tournament Friday night against Taylor County. A five-run top of the third erased an early 4-0 deficit. Taylor though would respond and take a 10-5 lead to the fifth. BC scored four, only to give up four in the home half in losing 14-9. They’ll try to stay alive tomorrow at 9 am.

BCHS wins Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award.

Bleckley County High School was announced today as the 2020-21 winner of the GHSA Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award for region 3-AA. According to the announcement on GHSA.net, the award honors schools that
"demonstrated impeccable sportsmanship during the 2020-21 school year."

Two coaches to serve on GHSA committees.

Two BCHS coaches will have important jobs besides their regular duties as they'll be part of GHSA committees. Cross Country head coach and distance runner coach Shelly Cranford will be part of the GHSA Track and Field/Cross County Advisory Committee. Football head coach and Athletic Director Von Lassiter is a member of the 2021-22 GHSA Executive Committee.

A night of food and faith for the football players.



This week, the Royals have been hosting their annual summer camp with teams from across Georgia including Trion and Effingham County led by former BCHS assistants Sean Patrick and John Ford. Wednesday night, a fellowship event was held at First Baptist Church sponsored by BCHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes. After getting off the bus, players were guided to lines were volunteers were on hand to distribute sandwiches and water. The evening featured music and worship from the JJ Weeks Band as well as a brief message from FBC Pastor Keith Rustin.
