Former Lady Royal softball player to help host camp.

Former BCHS softball player Abbey Sims will be part of a camp along with Dodge County's Aniyah Black July 12-14 from 9 am to noon in Eastman. Sims will be at the Cochran Bleckley Rec. Department today from 3-4 pm with registration forms.

Special award handed out at Masons monthly meeting.

Nan Anderson was presented the “Grace Maddox widow of a LIVING Mason” award at the monthly Cochran Masonic Lodge 217 F&AM meeting held Monday night. The award was named in honor of Maddox (now the real widow) of W Bro. (Worshipful Brother) J.W. Maddox. According to Worshipful Master Chad Allen, Grace said her husband stayed gone so much for Masonic business that, “she felt like a widow.” Allen said the award is given to the wife of a Mason who they thought was left at home for most of the year while the husband dealt with Masonic business. He said he felt like W Bro. Dr. Richard Anderson was that person, attending meetings, cooking pancakes and/or fish, as well as building wheelchair ramps. Anderson is pictured with W Bro. Joe Allen
