Finally getting to take aim for hope.



Last year, Promise of Hope’s “Aim For Hope” sporting clays tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19. It had to be postponed from March of this year because of rain. The event finally took place Saturday. Organizers said there were nearly 50 shooters.

Friday All Star update.



It was a busy Friday for Bleckley All Stars as three teams were in action in their respective state tournaments.. In Dublin: 8u baseball won 20-2 versus Lamar County and 14-1 against Seminole County. They play tomorrow at 9 am. In Roberta: 8u softball lost to Perry Junior League 9-7. They play tomorrow at 10 am. In Cochran: 10u softball edged Perry Junior League 4-3. They play tomorrow at 11:30 am.

Royals Stanley to continue football career at Virginia University of Lynchburg.

Zack Stanley announced via social media he had committed to Virginia University of Lynchburg. Stanley graduated in May and was a defensive lineman for BCHS. He was a second team selection on defense for the all region team.

BC walks it off in state tourney opener.




Bleckley 8u All Stars opened Dixie Youth State Thursday night at Southern Pines versus Wrens. Though having a pair of four-run leads early on, the team trailed 9-7 in the fifth. Two runs in the home half tied the game only to see Wrens score two more in the sixth. Bleckley would again answer in their half to send the game to extras. Still tied at 11 in the ninth, Liam Alley tripled to lead off. He would score on a ball hit by Ruger Williams to give Bleckley a 12-11 walkoff win. The team has two games tomorrow, 12:30 and 7:45 pm.

News from House of Grace.



(Photos courtesy BleckleyProgress.com contributor.) Last night at House of Grace, the Impact and Lighthouse student ministries squared off in a game of Family Feud. Impact is the middle school student ministry, Lighthouse is high school. Both meet on Wednesdays at 7 pm. Also, the church is hosting a “Decision Drama Kids Camp” July 7-11. Open to children in grades 1-5, participants will be introduced to the HOG Decision Drama Team and learn a dance that will be performed during the July 11 service at 10:30 am. Cost is $35 by June 30 and includes lunch/snack as well as T-Shirt and other gifts. Times are 10 am-2 pm July 7 and 10, 5:30-7:30 pm July 8 and 9. Register online by clicking the link.
