Top eight finishers at state track meet.

(Results courtesy ga.milesplit.com) The following BCHS athletes and teams finished in the top 8 in their event at the state meet held this weekend at McEachern High School in Powder Springs. Girls 4x800 team, third. Luke Churchwell, fifth in the 3200 meter run. Boys 4x800 team, sixth. Tristen Crosby, sixth in the 1600 meter run, seventh in the 800 meter run. Caden Maxwell, sixth in pole vault. Jackson Paulk, eighth in pole vault.

A busy morning in Cochran.



The rescheduled Cochran Cleanup Day took place Saturday. Volunteers met behind the Chamber of Commerce at 9 am, then proceeded to span out and pick up trash along various sections in town. People could also bring old tires to the Chamber to be hauled off and leave household garbage in bins set up around the city. Also, the Cochran Farmers Market opened. Stop by the courthouse square on Saturday mornings until noon to get fresh produce, baked goods, and more.

Spring football under the Friday night lights.




(Photos courtesy BleckleyProgress.com contributor.) BCHS traveled to Alma Friday night for a jamboree style scrimmage against host Bacon County and Veterans High School. The teams played four-minute periods. It provided coaches a chance to evaluate players following the conclusion of spring practice. The Royals will scrimmage Hawkinsville August 13.
