Odom again chosen as Pitcher of the Week.

For the second time in the last three weeks, former BCHS and current Gordon State College pitcher Bailey Odom was named GCAA Pitcher of the Week. In two games, Odom went 2-0 with an 0.000 ER, seven strikeouts, four walks.

Registration open for 30th annual Touchdown Club Golf Tournament.

Registration is open for the 30th annual Royal Football Golf Tournament sponsored by the Touchdown Club. It will be held April 24 at Uchee Trail, 8:30 am start. Cost is $300 per team for the four-person scramble. Entry fee includes entry for prizes in the longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the pin, and hole in one contests. Lunch provided. Easter events returning for several churches. ***Updated April 1***

Last year, most churches had to hold Easter services online due to COVD-19. There were no egg hunts. As things have improved, several churches have special services, some are also doing egg hunts. See a current listing by clicking the link.

Local church resumes Easter tradition.




Christ Chapel Cochran’s annual community Easter egg hunt had become a tradition over the past few years. Held at the rec, department, it would feature games and thousands of eggs, sometimes dropped by helicopter. Like many events, it was a casualty of COVID-19 in 2020. Saturday, the event returned. While there wasn’t a helicopter drop, there were games and thousands of eggs for children to gather. Christ Chapel has moved to a new building, the former New Life Church of God location at 335 West Dykes Street. The church will host Sunrise Service April 4 at 7:30 am, and an Easter service entitled “Resurrection Sunday and Raised to Life Baptisms” at 10:30.
